The 2nd Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art continues the experience of consolidation of the local cultural institutions within Parallel program, which resonates with topics, and dates of the main biennial shows. Various events and thematic exhibitions will be run at museums, galleries, exhibition halls, and libraries of Yekaterinburg. Projects within the biennial Parallel program are produced independently by curatorial staff of the local institutions on the base of either already established collections or works of invited artists. These projects deal with a subject of urban environment transformation throughout industrial and postindustrial periods, its reflection in art practices and lives of both local and international artists. An important part of the program are large research museum exhibition projects devoted to exploration and disclosure for a wide audience the collections of Yekaterinburg Fine Arts Museum, Dom Metenkova Photo museum, Regional Belinsky Library, etc.
