ABOUT

PLANNED EXPLOIT

Paintings of the 1920s-1980s from the collection of Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts. The industrial theme was dominant for decades, while the industrial process, workers, labor exploits, the panoramas of building sites, mines, and factories firmly settled on the painterly space of canvases and became the local art scene’s visiting card. The romantic interpretation of the images of workers and their everyday life created its own mythology, sometimes a little distant from reality but all the more captivating and attractive for contemporary audience.
